Spellbinders Clear Stamp & Die of the Month is a unique layering stamp set with fabulous sentiments, and dies for the sentiments and a shopping bag. This card illustrates how a single die can be used in a fresh, unexpected way. The produce-style bag is a fun focal design element, providing a light, airy feel with a soft spring palette.

Card Details

The design begins with a warm Beeswax Colorwheel Cardstock card base layered with a white scalloped panel from the Bow and Bell Scallop Frames adding a delicate stitched frame that draws the eye inward. Behind the panel, a cheerful floral arrangement was stamped in shades of pink with soft green foliage, creating a fresh garden backdrop. To ensure that the arrangement was going to fit within the bag, I first traced the bag die very lightly onto the panel before stamping with Distress Oxide Inks; Mowed Lawn, Twited Citron, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple. This allowed the fruit, vegetables, and flowers to be arranged exactly the way I wanted them!

The highlight of the card is the die-cut produce bag, cut from coordinating yellow cardstock and white sheet foam. This was stacked by popping out only the diamond die cuts and leaving the bag in the surrounding foam making it easy to align. The stacked bag was then adhered onto the traced outline on the panel, allowing the colourful fruits and florals beneath to peek through.

The sentiment, included in the set, was stamped on Beeswax cardstock, cut with the coordinating die and popped up on a foam die cut. It was placed just below the bag to anchor the design without overwhelming the focal point.

Final Thoughts

The combination of soft florals, bright produce, and the dimensional bag creates a fresh, happy card that’s perfect for sending a little sunshine to someone special.
