Hello friends! Spellbinders’ City Holiday Collection is exactly what you would expect from Yana … FABULOUS! I have two cards; one A2 featuring Christmas Cracker and a 5” by 7” card with City Holiday. Both of these die set are really fun to work with!

Both cards have been created with Colorwheel Cardstock. If you haven’t checked out this collection, I encourage you to do so. There is a large range of colours and within each color, there are different variations making it easy to create palettes for a design.
The backgrounds for both cards were done with Indigo. For the Christmas Cracker card, the elements were cut from Fern, Tuscan and Cranberry. Matte Gold from the Gold Treasured Cardstock was used for details. City Holiday was done up in Blush, Tutu and Fern with patterned paper from the Hello It’s Me 6X6 Designer Paper Pad for the curtains.
Christmas Cracker

The panel for the background was embossed with Stylized Lattice 3D Embossing Folder.
The Christmas Cracker die set includes foliage. Nuvo Stone Drops Chalk White was applied to the tips of the evergreen and holly. This is my favourite medium for creating snow. I love the matte, textured appearance. The branches were tacked together and then adhered to the card front. The amber and red crackers were mounted on foam and overlapped on the foliage. The green cracker was adhered to the end of the red one and a double strip of black foam tape was used for the overhanging portion. After adding a small holly group to the amber cracker, this card was finished off with a letterpressed sentiment using the Christmas Cheer Sentiments Press Plate Die Set. Both the sentiment and foam were cut with the coordinating die so that it could be stacked.
City Holiday

I adore this three-story house created with the City Holiday die set. There are lots of different options included; window coverings, accessories, even a chimney choice! This set was a lot of fun to work with. I began by spattering the background panel with Splatter White. Using the landscape die included with the set, white cardstock was cut and letterpressed with a sentiment from the Christmas Cheer Sentiments Press Plate Die Set before adhering it to the bottom of the card front. The cream windows were adhered to the impressions on the house, followed by the curtains and the window frames. After adhering the black door and steps, it was a adorned with a wreath and bow.. The building was decorated randomly with pink bricks to give the suggestion of what it is made from. The windows were accessorized with a cat, flowers and a Christmas tree.
