Spellbinders BetterPress of the Month for September, 2025– Sketchy Hexi

Hello friends! This month’s BetterPress set, Sketchy Hexi, includes a background plate, a hexagon die, two sentiments, and a sentiment strip die. I wanted to show how versatile BetterPress plates can be — they’re not just for pressing! For these two cards, I combined letterpressing and hot foiling using press plates

Card One (Foiled Background):
I hot foiled kraft cardstock with gold foil, then used the coordinating hexagon die to cut one style of the sketched designs.
The panel was adhered to an A2 black card base.
The hexagon die cuts will be used on the second card. to cut both foil cardstock and black sheet foam.
The metallic cardstock was die-cuts and popped up on black foam. They were adhered to the die cut openings.
Card Two (Foiled Die-Cuts):
A second panel of kraft cardstock was letterpressed with various colours from Dina’s Faves BetterPress Inks Mini Set and Dina’s Happy BetterPress Inks Mini Set , A small blending brush was used to apply a different ink colour for each design.
The foiled die cut hexagons from card 1 were stacked on black foam and adhered to the coordinating design on the panel.
Both cards were finished with letterpressed sentiments in black ink from the Regal Tones BetterPress Ink Mini Set on kraft cardstock, cut with the sentiment strip die. Foam backing gave the greetings extra lift.
