Hello friends! Spellbinders’ BetterPress of the Month, Festive Press, is beautiful background design perfect for Christmas … and any other time of the year! I have two cards, one letterpressed and the other hot foiled. I love how beautifully the BetterPress plates foil! Double duty!

The July "New Subscriber" registration window will be open July 6th to the 27th. Sign up in July and receive the current design.

The backgrounds created with the BetterPress of the Month for this pair of cards demonstrates how BetterPress plates can be used for either letterpressing or hot foiling … the same can be said for glimmer plates. For many people, me included, it is important to be able to extend the use of craft supplies and get the most out of them. For the penguin mug, Seaside from the Colorwheel Cardstock Collection was foiled using the Glimmer Hot Foil System. Speckled Prism Hot Foil gives the the sparkle an additional lift! For the gingerbread men card, a BetterPress Porcelain A2 Panel was pressed with Fresh Dye inks Aqualicious, Teal Cave and Dew Drop using the BetterPress System. The inks were applied randomly. The panels were cut with a die from A2 Matting Basics and adhered to A2 sized card bases.

  • The letterpressed card was dressed up with adorable gingerbread men. This die set was the Bonus Item included in the Deluxe Caboodle Kit.

  • One was cut from white card stock and the other from Seaside. The card stock colours were reverse for the inlaid buttons and the icing details on the legs and arms.

  • The black eyes and mouth were inlaid and the Chifflon cheeks adhered to the impressions.

  • The sentiment, included in the kit, was pressed with Aqualicious and cut with the coordinating die.

  • The gingerbread men and sentiment were popped up with foam.

  • The adorable penguin mug from the Small Die of the Month completes this card with its foiled background.

  • The penguin mug was created with die cuts of black, white, Seaside and Coral card stock.

  • The sentiment, included in the kit, was foiled with Speckled Prism Hot Foil and cut with the coordinating die.

  • The mug and sentiment were popped up with foam.
