Spellbinders’ BetterPress of the Month for August, 2025

Hello friends! Spellbinders’ BetterPress of the Month, Fish Parade, is beautifully designed fishscape background. I have inked up the fish in two different colour palettes featuring nes BetterPress Inks; Dina’s Faves BetterPress Inks Mini Set and Dina’s Happy BetterPress Inks Mini Set … one soft and pretty, the other bold!

The fishy backgrounds were letterpressed with the BetterPress of the Month for this pair of cards on BetterPress Porcelain A2 Panels using the BetterPress System. The softer palette was inked with colours from the Dina’s Faves BetterPress Inks Mini Set. Dina’s Happy BetterPress Inks Mini Set was used on a second panel.
The inks were applied with detail blending tools. These inks are slow drying and will sit on the BetterPress plate long enough to ink up the fish individually. The panels were cut with a die from A2 Matting Basics and adhered to black A2 sized card bases.
The sentiments, included in the kit, was pressed with Black BetterPress Ink from the Regal Tones BetterPress Ink Mini Set. Although there is a full size, black ink pad sold separately, when inking up sentiments, I prefer to use the mini size. The sentiments were cut with the coordinating dies. The dies were also used to cut foam. The sentiments were stacked and adhered to the card fronts. Clear, smooth crystals reminiscent of bubbles were used to embellish the cards.
