Spellbinder’s House-Mouse Spring Has Sprung Collection featuring Breezy Day & Flower Shower

Hello friends! I am such a a huge fan of House-Mouse. The illustrations are so precious! I love how ‘everyday moments’ are captured with a touch of humour and sweetness. Breezy Day … Flower Shower … do you have a favourite? I would be hard pressed to choose one over the other! They are both so adorable! And there’s more! Check out the full House-Mouse Spring Has Sprung Collection!

  • Breezy Day and Flower Shower are red rubber stamps. Both images were stamped on white card stock and masking paper.

  • The masking paper images were cut out. For Breezy Day, the mice, clothes pins and clothing were masked. Just the mice were masked for Flower Shower.

  • A large circle die was used to cut the Breezy Day image. The top and left hand side were cut to create a right angle to fit the corner of the card base.

  • The ink blended background was created with Distress Oxide Inks Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans. The ink was applied with blending tools in diagonal sweeps. White pigment ink was added to emphasize the movement of the air.

  • The masks were removed and the images Copic coloured. The bodies of the mice were coloured with E79, 74 and 71. E79 was used to accentuate the hair detail. The faces paws and tails were coloured with E70 and RV02 was used on the cheeks and ears.

  • The Rope and clothes pins were coloured with E37, 34 and N4 and RV02/04, Y13/17 and YR07 were used for the laundry.

  • The circle die was used to cut black sheet foam, the image was adhered to it and the excess foam trimmed off. The image was adhered to the top, left hand corner of the card base and the sentiment was stamped.

  • For Flower Shower, a foreground was masked with Post-It Note Tape and inked with Distress Oxide Ink Iced Spruce.

  • A bokeh background was inked over the image. I created my own stencil punching several sizes of circles on acetate. I have had this stencil for years and it is my ‘go to’ when I want to do this inking technique.

  • The circles were inked with Pawsitively Saturated Inks Lilac, Heather and Amethyst using blending brushes ensuring the sizes were varied and they were overlapping each other.

  • The masks were removed and the images Copic coloured. The bodies of the mice were coloured with E79, 74 and 71. E79 was used to accentuate the hair detail. The faces paws and tails were coloured with E70 and RV02 was used on the cheeks and ears.

  • The stems were coloured with YG63 and the lavender with V09. A dot was placed on each flower with a white gel pen.

  • A Quickie Glue Pen was used to add small droplets of adhesive on the balloons that were coated with silver glitter.

  • Clear iridescent confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew completed the card.
