Spellbinder’s Glimmer of the the Month for June

Updated: Sep 23, 2023

Hello, fellow crafters! I absolutely LOVE Spellbinder's ocean themed products for the June Clubs! So perfect for summertime cards! Today's card features the Glimmer of the Month, Sending Waves, and I just had to sneak in that fabulous whale from the Large Die Of the Month. I hope you love this card as much as I do!

The June "New Subscriber" registration window will be available June 6 - 27th while supplies last.

  • The sea was created first. This set comes with two sea profiles that are long enough for both a profile or landscape orientation. I began by inking a band wide enough for the glimmer plates on white card stock with Pawsitively Saturated Inks Galaxy, Royal and Twilight using a blender brush.

  • The sea profiles were foiled using Aura Glimmer Foil.

  • The set has accompanying dies. The top edge for each of the three profiles were die cut.

  • Three pieces of black foam were cut to a width of 4 1/4" and about 4" high. The width of each was cut with one of the sea profile dies to coordinate with each of the sea panels. The panels were adhered to the foam and the length of each one trimmed for staggered layering.

  • The whale from the Large Die Of the Month was cut from white and black card stock and assembled. The whale was cut in half.

  • Black card stock sized.4 1/4" by 5 1/2" was cut with a circular die and then adhered to an A2 sized card base.

  • This same circle die was used to cut Bristol Smooth card stock. The die cut was inked with Distress Oxide inks Wild Honey and Fossilized Amber. The moon was inlaid on the black background.

  • The three foam backed sea profiles were adhered to the card layering one onto the other.

  • The two halves of the whale were slipped between the layers and adhered.

  • Although this glimmer set comes with a sentiment, I chose one from an "add on" set, Ocean Wishes Sentiments. The sentiment was foiled in Hot Foil Aura on black card stock. The accompanying die was used to cut both the sentiment and black foam. The stacked sentiment was adhered to the card.

  • The night time sky was embellished with silver half pearls.
