Spellbinder’s 12 DAYS OF STITCHMAS ADVENT CALENDAR - Day 1 through 12

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

Hello everyone! Here we go with Spellbinder's 12 Days Of Stitchmas Advent Calendar! I am making tree ornaments but these beautiful designs would look amazing on a card or tag. The colour palette I have chosen will be interwoven for a sweet set of 12 tree ornaments. Rather then creating 12 separate posts, I will be updating this post with each reveal! BE SURE to check back for updates! I will reflect the days that are included in the post in the POST TITLE.

DAY 12

  • Okay .. Day 12! In my opinion, the best was saved for last! I love this gorgeous angel made up of several die cuts. One angel is predominantly cream coloured and the other gold.

  • The stitched dress was completed with pale yellow floss that is the same colour as the card stock for a monochromatic look. This die cut was dotted with Tombow adhesive and left to dry.

  • The angel is easily assembled. The ornament hanger from Day 1 was used and sandwiched with the halo between two die cuts of the head.

  • Gold crystals were used to embellish the dress for the angel that was not stitched.

DAY 11

  • I love this adorable Christmas sweater ... one cut from black metallic card stock and the other from cream card stock.

  • The stitching was completed with pale yellow embroidery floss and then dotted with Tombow adhesive. It was set aside to dry.

  • The ornament hanger from the Day 1 die set was used for this project. It was sandwiched between the detailed sweater and a plain die cut.

  • Lots of gold crystal embellishments for the non-stitched sweater complete Day 11!

DAY 10

  • A sweet stocking to hang on the tree with this 4 piece die set cut from purple glitter and cream card stock.

  • The stitching was done with pale yellow embroidery floss divided in half. The stitched elements were dotted well with Tombow adhesive and set aside to dry until tacky.

  • The stockings are super quick to assemble. They were embellished with gold crystals.

DAY 9

  • Such a pretty Christmas ball! This 3 piece die set was used to cut black metallic and cream card stock.

  • The stitching for the one ornament was completed with pale yellow embroidery floss divided in half.

  • The stitched die cut was adhered with Tombow and the rest using regular glue.

  • The ornament hanger was cut twice from gold card stock and adhered front and back on the ornament.

  • The project was embellished with gold crystals.

DAY 8

  • Such a beautiful 4 piece die set cut out of gold foil and purple glitter card stock.

  • The stitched ornament was done up in purple embroidery floss divided in half. A quick stitching project!

  • The stitched die cut was adhered with Tombow and the rest using regular glue.

  • The ornament hanger was borrowed once again from the Day 1 die set.

  • The project was embellished with gold crystals.

DAY 7 ... Interactive!

  • One stitched, the other plain for this sweet interactive bell! Both were done up with fold foil and cream card stock.

  • Because these bells are interactive, the plain bell die cut was cut twice. I also cut the trim twice to add a bit of dimension.

  • The stitched bell was stitched with cream embroidery thread divided in half. A bit more stitching on this one but so pretty!

  • The stitched die cuts were adhered with Tombow and regular adhesive for the rest.

  • When assembling the interactive bell clapper to the bell, foam adhesive circles or squares are needed. Please see the VIDEO TUTORIAL.

  • These ornaments were completed with LOTS of gold crystals.

DAY 6

  • Two ornaments for this cute Christmas gift box; one stitched and the other plain. Both were cut with purple glitter and cream card stock.

  • The stitched ornament was done up in purple embroidery floss divided in half. A quick stitching project!

  • The stitched die cut was adhered with Tombow and the rest using regular glue.

  • The ornament hanger was borrowed once again from the Day 1 die set.

  • Gold crystals complete the project!

DAY 5

  • This beautiful snowflake is just two dies but when the detail die is cut, the snowflake points are separate ... 9 die cuts. Love this! The stitching detail was cut from cream card stock and the outline die was used to cut gold foil.

  • A lot more stitching on this one! Again, I used purple embroidery thread and applied Tombow adhesive to the backs of the die cuts when the stitching was complete.

  • When the adhesive was dry, the die cuts were adhered to the gold foil snowflake. I found it easiest to adhere all 8 snowflake points first. The middle die cut was then easy to centre.

  • Lots of gold crystals were used to embellish this snowflake!

DAY 4

  • This gorgeous Noel consists of 4 dies. The text was cut from purple glitter card stock and the shadow and ornament hanger (from the Day 1 die set) from black metallic. The circle and ornament topper were cut from gold foil.

  • The stitching was done with purple embroidery thread. Not much to stitch for this one! Tombow adhesive was applied to the back and it was set aside to dry.

  • The ornament hanger was sandwiched between two shadow die cuts. The glitter Noel was adhered followed by the stitched circle and ornament topper.

  • The stitched element was embellished with gold crystals.

DAY 3

  • The ornament is a classic design. I love it! The stitching die was used to cut black metallic card stock and the outline die was used to cut purple glitter card stock. Two ornament hangers were cut from gold foil card stock.

  • The stitching was done with purple embroidery thread divided in half to reduce the thickness.

  • Tombow was applied to the back of the stitched ornament, and after the adhesive was dry, it was stacked on the glitter die cut.

  • The ornament hangers were adhered back-to-back and mounted on the ornament.

  • The stitched designed were embellished with gold crystals.

DAY 2

  • This pair of candles is gorgeous! The individual stitched candles and the individual outline dies were cut from cream card stock. The stitched flames were cut from gold foil card stock and the outline die was used to cut flames from the cream card stock. Black metallic card stock cut twice using the double candle out line die and once with the holly leaves and the ornament hanger from the Day 1 die set. The berries were cut from purple glitter card stock.

  • The stitching on the candles and flames were completed with silver embroidery floss.

  • Tombow was applied to the back of the stitched elements, and after the adhesive was dry, they were stacked on the plain die cuts.

  • The ornament hanger was sandwiched between the two double candle doe cuts and the individual candles were adhered to it.

  • The candle was completed with the holly and berries.

DAY 1

  • Day 1 is a gorgeous, layered Christmas Tree. The individual stitching tree layers and a plain die cut for each one was cut from metallic black card stock.

  • The simple stitching was done with purple embroidery thread divided in half to reduce the thickness.

  • The stitched tree layers were adhered to plain die cut ones. For the tree top layer, the ornament hanger cut from gold card stock was sandwiched between the two layers. When adhering a stitched die cut, I like to use Tombow adhesive. It was applied and left to dry until it was in its tacky state. I find using Tombow adhesive in this manner does a couple of things. It ensures the stitching is secure and it allows the element to lay pretty snug to whatever it is adhered to.

  • The decorative trim was cut from purple glitter card stock and adhered to the bottom of each layer.

  • The three tree layers were adhered together.

  • The gold star tree topper was cut from gold card stock and adhered to the top of the tree. The star was finished off with Nuvo Glitter Drops Gold and gold crystals were added to to the scalloped edge of the garlands.
