Hello friends! I have a sweet Autumn card featuring Mushroom Duo from the new BetterPress Fall/Halloween Collection. The set comes with two plates; the mushroom image and a sentiment with a coordinating die. This woodsy image is perfect for any occasion!
The image plate from Mushroom Duo was letterpressed with black ink on a panel of Pebble BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panels. This paper has a beautiful light grey tone. For details on how to use the BetterPress System, check out my video, Introduction To Spellbinder's BetterPress System. So easy!
The mushroom image was given a water colour look by colouring with Zig Real Brush Markers. The ink is water based and applied to the image where you want the colour to be most concentrated. A wet water colour brush is used to pull the colour creating a gradient.
Water colour paints were used to add some depth to the background. A combination of mossy green and tan was added to ground the mushrooms. The background around the mushroom was wetted with clean water and blue grey was added nearest the image and pulled out to blend into the soft grey of the card stock.
When the panel was dry, it was spattered with slightly watered down black gouache. The spatter was applied with a fan brush.
The panel and black sheet foam were cut with a die from Notched Corner Frames. The panel was adhered to the foam die cut. This new nesting die set consists of 10 dies! I love the corner detail!
The foam backed panel was adhered to an A2 sized, black top folding card base. The foam backed sentiment was adhered to the card front completing this card.
The details on the mushroom cap and the lower portion of the card front was embellished with Nuvo Stone Drops Chalk White. I don't use this product often and now I am wondering why! The dot detail is matte with a sandy texture. A perfect compliment to this woodsy card!
