Sparkle and Shine featuring Altenew's SHINING CRYSTALS

Hello, friends! I am excited to be a Guest Designer for Altenew's September Release! There are so many gorgeous products! At the top of my 'fave' list is the unique SHINING CRYSTALS! I have always had a fascination for crystals and had so much fun creating this card. This stencil set consists of four stencils. Each stencil is divided into layering sections. AND when the stencilling is complete, how about some dimension with the coordinating Shining Crystals 3D Embossing Folder?!

Be sure to check out the VIDEO HOP on You Tube for my tutorial and to see other designers showcase the fabulous September Release! To sweeten the pot, there is also a great GIVEAWAY!

  • The crystals were stencilled on white oversized card stock.

  • Altenew's Cotton Candy was the only ink used to stencil the crystals. It was applied with a blender tool. By varying the pressure, different tonalities were created.

  • Shining Crystals Layering/Simple Coloring Stencil Set are clearly numbered indicating the order in which to use them. On each stencil, there are layering sections to complete a grouping of crystals. Again the order is etched onto each section.

  • For the final stencil, in addition to the grouping of crystals, there is a base that the crystals will be anchored on. I introduced a second ink, Morning Frost, in addition to the Cotton Candy.

  • The panel with the crystals is very easy to line up to the coordinating Shining Crystals 3D Embossing Folder. The dimension that this adds takes this stencilled image to the next level! Awesome!

  • The panel was trimmed down to 4" by 5 1/4", mounted on sheet foam and adhered to an A2 sized, top folding card base.

  • Using clear drying, liquid adhesive, chunky glitter was adhered to the top of each crystal and where the two planes meet on the sides.

  • The SHINE sentiment was cut using Altenew's Fine Alphabet from both white card stock and sheet foam and then stacked. The top half of the letters were lightly inked with Cotton Candy and the bottom half dressed up with the chunky glitter.

  • The secondary sentiment was foiled in gold on white card stock using Essential Sentiment Hot Foil Plate. This foiling plate will create several sentiments that are die cut into strips all at once with the coordinating Essential Sentiment Die Set. The sentiment strip was mounted on foam and adhered to the card.

  • The SHINE sentiment was mounted above the secondary sentiment overlapping the base of the crystals.

  • The card was embellished with clear crystals.
