Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember Blog Party featuring LAYERING CHRISTMAS TREES | FREE GIFT

For today’s projects, I’ve created a set of colourful Christmas cards and coordinating gift tags featuring the super-fun Layering Christmas Trees stamp set. All of the trees were stamped using Pawsitively Fresh Dye Inks, making it easy to create bright, vibrant combinations of colour.

Christmas Gift Tags

I started by creating my tags using the 1-2-3 Tag Punch. This is such a handy tool because it allows you to create three different tag widths, while the length can be customized to suit your project.

For these tags, I used the widest width, 3 inches, and cut the length to 4¼ inches.

I began by stamping the tree stand and sentiment in black ink. For the trees, I used the narrowest layering tree, which is made up of two stamps that are layered one over the other. I chose three fun colour combinations:

● Taffy + Peony

● Ocean + Seafoam

● Lilac + Orchid

The stars at the top of the trees were stamped using Citrine ink.

I coloured the base of each tree stand with a gold gel pen, then added lots of snowflakes in different sizes using the new Nuvo Stone Drops in Chalk White. Once the snow drops were completely dry, I finished each tag by threading tuille through the hole to create the tag holder.

These tags are quick and easy to make, and I think they would be such a fun addition to a Christmas gift!

Christmas Card Set

For the Christmas cards, I incorporated another new product—the Fiesta A2 Die Set.

For each card, I chose two shades of cardstock from the same colour family: blue, green and pink.

I used the largest die from the Fiesta A2 Die Set to cut the darker shade of cardstock for each card. I also cut a panel of gold foil cardstock to the same size. I rounded the corners of both pieces using a Corner Rounder, to ensure the corners matched perfectly, and then adhered the cardstock panel to the gold foil. This was then adhered to an A2 card base, with the corners of the card base also rounded to coordinate perfectly with the layered panel.

Next, I used the middle-sized die from the Fiesta A2 Die Set  to cut the lighter coordinating cardstock panel. This was adhered to a piece of gold foil cardstock measuring 3¼ x 4½ inches, with the corners rounded once again. Before adhering the smaller cardstock panel to the gold foil, I stamped the Christmas trees.

For the three cards, I used these Pawsitively Fresh Dye Ink combinations:

● Blue: Marine + Cadette

● Pink: Bubblegum + Carnation

● Green: Sprout + Field

Once the stamping was complete, the smaller panel was adhered to the gold foil and mounted onto foam adhesive. I then centred this onto the card front.

To finish the Christmas trees, I added a combination of gold confetti and confetti in a coordinating colour. Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew were added the perfect finishing touch.I love how the gold foil brings all of the bright colours together and gives these cards a festive look!
