The Heart to Heart release from Simon Says Stamp is packed with playful layers, bold colour, and plenty of heart-filled details—perfect for celebrating friendship and love in all its forms. Today’s cards showcase two very different approaches using the same release: a vibrant, stencil-built background card with dimensional accents, and a sweet shaped card that leans into texture and soft colour for maximum impact.

Card One – Love City Stenciled Background

This card features the Love City 6 X 6 Stencil, which includes three layering stencils to build a dynamic, all-over heart city background. The design was stenciled onto an A2 panel of white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Guava, Watermelon, and Cherry.
Two dimensional hearts were die cut using the Love City Dies, a two-piece set. The background heart was cut from white cardstock and white sheet foam, then stacked. The detailed heart layers were die cut from white cardstock and inked with the same three colours used on the background—this time with heavier ink application for richer saturation. Once assembled, the hearts were adhered to the top two-thirds of the card front in a staggered layout.
The sentiment comes from the Heart Suite stamp set. “Friend” was stamped in red ink, Distress Oxide Candied Apple, to ensure it stood out against the busy background. The secondary sentiment was stamped in black and centred below. To finish, two pieces of confetti were added near the top corners of each heart and accented with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew for a subtle sparkle.
Card Two – Layered Heart Shaped Card

The second card is a shaped design created with the Basic Hearts Nesting Die set. The card base was made from white card stock folded in half, with the largest heart die positioned so it slightly overhung the fold—creating a clean hinge while maintaining the heart shape. A matching heart was die cut from Doll Pink card stock and adhered to the card base.
A smaller heart was die cut from Cotton Candy card stock and embossed using the Wonderland Snowflakes embossing folder. The raised details were inked with white pigment ink to highlight the texture before adhering the panel to the card front.
The focal point is a layered heart created with the Flourish Heart dies, another two-piece set. The background heart was die cut from both white card stock and white sheet foam and stacked together. The detailed overlay was die cut from Doll Pink card stock. A craft pick was used to lift the fine partial die cut details, adding texture. Once assembled, the heart was adhered to the center of the card.
The sentiment, again from the Heart Suite stamp set, was trimmed into a narrow strip and mounted across the inner heart using small foam squares for subtle dimension.
Closing Thoughts
These two cards highlight the versatility of the Heart to Heart release—one bold and graphic, the other soft and tactile. Whether you love layered stenciling with vibrant colour or textured shape cards with delicate details, this collection makes it easy to create heartfelt projects that feel special and handmade. Perfect for friends, loved ones, or anyone who could use a little extra love in their mailbox. 💗
