Scarecrow Harvest, Stitching Die of the Month for September, 2026
The Spellbinders September Stitching Die of the Month, Scarecrow Harvest, is absolutely adorable and perfect for celebrating the arrival of Autumn. This cheerful little scarecrow, complete with his hat, stitched patches, and bright orange coat, makes such a fun focal point for a Fall card. I decided to surround him with tall corn stalks and warm Autumn colours, creating a playful harvest scene with plenty of dimension.

Card Details
I began by creating a shaped card base using one of the dies from the Perfect Touch Arches. I positioned the die so the top of the arch extended slightly beyond the crease of a piece of white cardstock folded in half, creating a hinged card base. I then used the same die to cut a panel from Fern Colorwheel Cardstock and adhered it to the front of the card.
Most of the elements were die cut from Colorwheel Cardstock, including Fern, Rainforest, Tuscan, Indigo and Acorn, along with rich orange and kraft cardstock. I used metallic copper embroidery floss for the stitching details. The three little patches were stitched directly onto the scarecrow’s coat and hat, adding just the right amount of detail and texture. The scarecrow itself is surprisingly easy to assemble, and all those little pieces come together to create such a charming character.
For the tall corn stalks, I die cut two stems for each stalk and adhered one to the other to create longer stems. I tucked the corn cobs into the leaves here and there before arranging the stalks along both sides of the arched card base. The scarecrow was then popped up with foam squares and placed in the centre of the card.
The sentiment, from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month, was stamped onto Tuscan cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut both the sentiment and a layer from black sheet foam, creating a dimensional, stacked sentiment. It was adhered above the scarecrow to finish the card.
Closing Thoughts
I love how this card captures the fun, slightly whimsical side of autumn. The rich green background makes the orange coat and golden corn really stand out, while the copper stitching adds a lovely bit of sparkle and texture. And, of course, this little scarecrow is just too cute! Scarecrow Harvest is a wonderful set for creating cheerful Fall cards, and I think this one would be perfect for sending a little gratitude to someone special.
