The Regal Reflections Collection from Spellbinders is full of elegant structure and refined detail, making it perfect for creating cards that feel both classic and dramatic. By pairing the Regal Blooms dies with the Arch Punch & Pierce Plate, these two designs show just how versatile the collection can be—one leaning into bold contrast with a shaped card base, and the other highlighting delicate piercings framed in soft gold and florals.

Card One – Pierced Arch with Floral Accents

For the first card, both the outline and detail dies from Arch Punch & Pierce Plate were used to cut violet cardstock and black sheet foam. The outer arch was discarded, and the two inner Colorwheel Cardstock Violet arches were adhered to the foam die cut.

To create the hint of gold behind the pierced details, the same dies were used to cut matte Gold Treasured Cardstock. To keep the delicate piercings intact, the dies were only run through the die-cutting machine in one direction. This worked well overall, with just a few small areas needing to be inlaid.

Again, the outer arch was discarded, and the gold arches were adhered to an A2-sized black cardstock base. The foam-mounted violet arch was carefully lined up with the gold layer and adhered on top, allowing the gold to peek through the pierced details.

The florals from Regal Blooms were die cut from a combination of cream and matte gold cardstock, assembled, and arranged along the edges of the arch. In spots where blooms or leaves overhung the arch, small foam squares were used for support.

The card was finished with sentiments from Vivid Script Sentiments, die cut from matte gold cardstock. This time, the coordinating shadow dies were used and cut from cream cardstock to help the sentiment stand out.

Card Two – Shaped Arch with Regal Blooms

To create the shaped card base, the outline die from Arch Punch & Pierce Plate was used to cut black cardstock that had been folded in half. The die was placed slightly over the fold to create a hinged card base.

The same outline die, along with the coordinating detail die, was used to cut violet and matte gold cardstock. This process results in three separate arches. The violet outer arch was adhered directly to the card base, followed by the middle arch. The smallest interior arch was left open, allowing the black card base to serve as the background and add contrast.

Using the Regal Blooms vase dies, both the outline and detailed vase dies were cut from matte gold cardstock. The outline die alone was also used to cut black cardstock and black sheet foam. The detailed gold vase was adhered to the black cardstock layer, and once the blooms were assembled, the stems were secured to the back of the vase.

The floral elements were die cut from lilac, matte gold, and mint cardstock, then layered together. The completed vase was adhered to the black foam die cut, and small foam squares were added behind the flowers for extra dimension.

The sentiment from Vivid Script Sentiments – Hello was die cut from black cardstock and black sheet foam, stacked together, and adhered centered at the base of the card.

Closing Thoughts

These two cards beautifully highlight the flexibility of the Regal Reflections Collection. With just a few changes in layering, colour, and assembly, the same dies can create dramatically different looks—from bold and graphic to soft and ornate. The combination of pierced arches, matte gold accents, and sculpted blooms brings a truly regal feel to both designs, making them perfect for everything from everyday greetings to special occasions.
