If you’re in the mood for fast, fun-filled cardmaking, rub-on sets are such a treat. Today I’m sharing two sweet projects created with Spellbinders rub-ons: Little Leaps and Spring Blessings. Each set includes enough images and sentiments to make eight cards, and they truly come together in no time at all—perfect for batch crafting or last-minute Easter makes.

Little Leaps Cards (A2 Size)

I began by rubbing the images onto white cardstock, making sure to leave enough space around each design so I could use nesting dies to cut them out. Each rub-on set includes a wooden popsicle stick for applying pressure, but I find the flat edge of a bone folder gives me the cleanest results.

For the Little Leaps cards, I used a soft, pretty colour palette from the ColourWheel cardstock range—Truffle and Chiffon. The card bases were created from Truffle cardstock, cut to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” (A2 size).

A panel of Chiffon cardstock was cut using the Perfect Touch Arches die set and adhered directly to the card base. The rub-on images were then die cut from white cardstock using a smaller arch die and popped up with foam tape for a bit of dimension. Each card was finished with delicate pink half pearls.

These eight cards came together very quickly, and I absolutely love the combination of warm brown, soft pink, and crisp white.

Spring Blessings Cards (A1 Size)

For the Spring Blessings set, I created a collection of smaller A1 cards. The white cardstock bases measure 3 1/2” x 5”, making them perfect for sweet, simple Spring/Easter greetings.

All of the rub-on images were die cut using the Essential Stylish Ovals Die Set. Each oval was foam mounted onto a larger oval cut from either Chiffon or yellow cardstock—three cards in each colour. To finish them off, I embellished the yellow-based cards with yellow half pearls and used pink half pearls on the Chiffon versions.

Closing Thoughts

Rub-on sets are such an easy way to create polished cards with minimal effort, and both of these collections are ideal for quick Spring/Easter projects. With coordinated images, sentiments, and just a bit of die cutting for the backgrounds, you can easily build a beautiful card set in one sitting. If you’re short on time but still want handmade charm, these rub-on cards are a definite win.
