Card Details
The party hat was die cut using a combination of Colorwheel Cardstock in Alabaster and Blush. Before assembling the hat, I completed the stitching using pink embroidery floss to coordinate with the Blush cardstock.
When working on stitching projects, Tombow Mono Adhesive is my preferred adhesive. I applied it to the back of all the stitched elements, making sure to get good coverage over the stitching, and then set the pieces aside to dry. Once dry, Tombow becomes tacky, allowing the layers to adhere together while securing the stitches and helping everything lie nice and flat.

For the card base, I used an A2-sized piece of Alabaster cardstock, layering a 4” x 5¼” panel of black cardstock on top. A third panel, measuring 3½” x 4¾”, was cut from Alabaster cardstock to complete the background.
To adhere the party hat, I used low-profile foam squares beneath the cone portion and liquid adhesive around the scalloped base.
The banner was die cut from Alabaster cardstock with the inset sentiment, Celebrate Big. To give the banner a fun, wavy appearance, I adhered one end directly to the card base and used foam squares to pop up the middle and opposite end.
To finish off the card, I added a coordinating sentiment from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month, Whoop Whoop! The sentiment was stamped in black ink onto Alabaster cardstock, then die cut along with a layer of black sheet foam using the coordinating die. I stacked the layers together and adhered the sentiment to the base of the party hat.

Closing Thoughts
What a fun little party hat! I love how the stitching adds texture and dimension, while the combination of pink, cream and black keeps the design fresh and playful. Paired with the coordinating sentiments, this set makes creating a festive birthday card so easy. Who wouldn’t love receiving a little celebration in the mail?
