Layered Stamping and Stencilling featuring Alex Syberia Designs’ FOR YOU & MODERN WEAVE

Updated: Jan 17, 2023

Hello cardmaking friends! Of all the fabulous products in Alex Syberia Designs first physical release, I think the For You Stamp Set and Modern Weave Layering Stencil are at the top my list! I love the graphic nature of both! All of Alex Syberia Designs' products come with 'how to' instructions. Layering stamps and stencils can be a bit tricky and the clear instructions that accompany these sets makes layering easy!

  • Light grey card stock, 4" by 5.25", was stencilled with Modern Weave Layering Stencil, The panel was centred on the stencil and held in position with low tack tape. This set consists of three separate stencils. The instructions on the package provides the order for stencilling. Each stencil has a registration square to allow the stencils to be aligned with one another EASILY.

  • All the stencilling and stamping was done with Pawsitvely Saturated Inks. These inks are organized in groups of three with a light, medium and dark tone ... perfect for layered stamping and stencilling.

  • The card with the blue flowers was stencilled with Morning, Twilight and Galaxy; the other one with Charcoal, Flannel and Lemonade.. The third layer was inked and then iridescent glitter gel medium applied.

  • The For You Stamp Set includes two sizes of layered flowers. For the blue flower card, starting lightest to darkest, the flower layers were stamped with Morning, Twilight and Galaxy. The stamens were stamped black .... careful, the 'cup' at the base of the stamens will sit below the layered flower. The flowers for the other card were stamped with Heather, Violet and Iris.

  • The outline for the stem was stamped with Pine and the solid layer with Sage.

TIP

When stamping solid stamps, check that the ink has been applied smoothly to ensure even tone of the impression. The ink coverage on the stamp is easily observed. Any imperfections will show and will be hard to even out with subsequent stampings. To intensify the colour, I stamped twice.

  • The background was adhered to a an A2 sized, black, top folding card base.

  • The stem was adhered first and then the blooms. The blooms sit on the end of the stems. Most of the flower will overhang the stem. Foam squares were used stabilize them.

  • For the blue flower card, the sentiment was cut using the Thanks Die. This set has both a shadow that was cut from dark blue glitter card stock and script cut from light grey card stock.

  • For the purple flower card, the stamped sentiments are from Birthday Wishes Stamp Set. Happy Birthday was stamped with black Versafine ink on light grey card stock. The Birthday Wishes Coordinating Die Set was used to cut the sentiments and grey card stock two times. The sentiments were stacked.

  • Lilac confetti embellished the purple flower card and navy was used on the other one. The confetti was finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew for a pretty, jewel-like effect.
