Card Details
To create the background, the large postage stamp die was used to cut white cardstock. This die was taped together with the coordinating square die to form a crisp white picture frame. While the frame was set aside, the background panel was created using a handmade stencil from the cloud die from the Stitching Die of the Month. The cloud die was cut from cardstock and used as a stencil, allowing soft layers of Distress Oxide ink—Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar, and Tumbled Glass—to be blended into a dreamy, cloud-filled sky.
Once complete, the white picture frame was adhered over the inked background to instantly define the scene.
The Hummingbird Delight Large Die Set includes two charming hummingbirds along with an abundance of floral elements. The hummingbirds were die cut from Colorwheel Cardstock in Rainforest, Cranberry, and Cream, while all greenery was cut from Rainforest. The florals were created using a mix of Coral, Beeswax, Blush, Lavender, and Violet, adding soft contrast and visual interest.

For the sentiments, the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month was used. The main “Smile” sentiment was stamped directly onto the cloudy background, keeping the design light and seamless. The secondary sentiment was stamped, die cut with its coordinating die, and popped up using a foam die cut for added dimension.
The large floral grouping was adhered along the bottom of the card front to anchor the design. The remaining flowers, leaves, and hummingbirds were mostly popped up with foam squares across the top half of the card, creating depth and movement. The secondary sentiment was placed in the bottom right corner. To finish, soft sparkle was added with Peach iridescent sequins, topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops – Morning Dew for a delicate, glossy shine.
