Hello everyone! Well I have a super cute birthday card featuring Spellbinder's Dancin' Birthday Dragon. What an adorable die set! The Monster Birthday Collection includes lots of sweet products including Birthday Balloons die set and Monster Birthday Sentiments stamp set included on this card. What a fun collection!
Dancin' Birthday Dragon was die cut mainly from plum and a dark grey card stock. This little cutie is easy to assemble. Because the body 'dances', the head is not adhered to the body.
I used an older Spellbinder's die set, Color Block Cloudscape, to create the background out of five different shades of blue card stock. Unfortunately, this set is no longer available. The cloud profiles were tape together and cut with the second largest die with its dot detailed edge from Postage Edge Slimlines.
The largest die from this set was used to cut black card stock. The cloud panel was adhered to it and then mounted on a card base measuring 3 1/2" by 8 1/2".
The Birthday Balloons die set is a set of 8 balloons (the die for the number six and nine is one and the same!), the balloon knot detail and strings. So cute!
I cut numbers one, two and three from both white card stock and foam. The balloon knot detail and strings were adhered to the balloons and then they were foam mounted. The balloons were adhered to the top of the card.
The dragon was laid out on the card to position the sentiment from Monster Birthday Sentiments. It was stamped with black Versafine ink.
To create the interactive dragon, a small foam square was used on the back of the dragon's head to hang the body. Additional foam squares were placed on the back of the top area of the head making sure they did not interfere with the swinging body. Holding the two separate pieces together, the backing paper was removed and the dragon adhered to the card front. Easy peasy! Need a visual? Check out this VIDEO to see how another dancin ' character was put together.
The dragon has some cute etched details that I highlighted with white Nuvo Crystal Drops. Because these detail are small, I applied the medium with a pin. Sounds tedious? It wasn't!
