Hello everyone! I was happy to make this card for a 'new mama to be'! Simon Says Stamp's Happiest Wishes was the perfect choice to send a little extra love to my niece who announced recently that they are expecting a baby boy. Lots of happy excitement in our family!
This is a big card designed to fit a 6" by 8" envelope. The large size made it easy to create a combo interactive card! I began with an over sized panel of Bristol Smooth card stock. Using Simon's Build A Rainbow stencil, Distress Oxide Inks were applied with a blending brush ... Chipped Sapphire , Unchartered Mariner, Salty Ocean, Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass and Speckled Egg! So many blues!!! The panel was trimmed to 7 1/2" by 5 1/4". The shadow die from Hey Mama was used to die cut the lower portion of the panel and the straight die from Lawn Fawn's Slide On Over cut four channels above the shadow die cut. The script dies from Hey Mama were used to cut the shadow die cut. The words were dotted with Tombow glue and left to dry to its tacky state before adhering them to the window covered with acetate.
The critters with their balloons were stamped with Simon's Intense Black Ink and Copic coloured:
Cat & Balloon - C0, 1, 4, R21, 24, 29
Bear & Balloon - E40, 44 , 48, Y11, 15, 18
Dog & Balloon - E50, 53, 55, B0, 02, 05
I cut them with a Scan & Cut but this set does have accompanying dies. Each balloon was stamped with a sentiment.
A second panel the same size as the stencilled panel was cut from white card stock. Gliders were placed in each of the four channels of the stencilled panel and a paper strip of card stock adhered to the back of the gliders joining them together. Acetate was adhered over the window with double sided tape. Thin foam strips were placed around the window and adhesive foam on the perimeter of the card. Studio Katia's Sparkling Sea Confetti Mix was added to the shaker area and the second panel was adhered to the back. The panel was adhered to a soft navy matted card base measuring 5 3/8" by 7 7/8".
Two cloud panels were cut with Spellbinders Color Block Cloudscape; one was inked with Chipped Sapphire and the other with Unchartered Mariner. They were overlapped and adhered together and mounted on the gliders. A sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Push Here was stamped on the clouds to line up with the second channel and an arrow stacked four times from the same set was adhered above it. The critters were also adhered to the cloud panel and a sentiment from Happiest Wishes was stamped on the upper portion of the panel. The card was embellished with the same confetti used in the shaker mix. They were finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
