The Hero Arts “You’ve Got a Friend” collection is full of charming designs, but the Bitty Stencil & Die Set combination immediately stood out to me. The stencil creates a soft floral background on its own, but pairing it with the coordinating cover die adds beautiful detail and dimension that really elevates the finished card.

SUPPLIES
Colorwheel Cardstock - Indigo, Wild Berry
CARD DETAILS
I began with the Bitty Floral stencil set, which includes four layering stencils. The flowers were blended with Distress Oxide inks in Festive Berries and Kitsch Flamingo, while the leaves were stencilled using Twisted Citron with touches of Mowed Lawn added for the veins. Walnut Stain was used for the flower centres to give them a little extra contrast and definition. I made sure to stencil onto a panel of white cardstock slightly larger than A2 size so there would be room to trim everything perfectly once the cover die was added.

The Bitty Floral cover die was cut from Colorwheel Cardstock in Indigo, along with a layer of black sheet foam for dimension. The Indigo die-cut panel was adhered to the foam and then carefully lined up over the stencilled background. Once everything was aligned, the excess white cardstock around the edges was trimmed away with a guillotine paper cutter. The completed panel was then adhered to an A2-sized black card base.
To finish the card, I used a sentiment from the Hello Friend Die Set. The shadow layer was cut from Wild Berry cardstock along with another layer of black sheet foam for added depth. The script words were cut from Indigo cardstock and adhered to the shadow layer before the sentiment was centred on the front of the card.

FINAL THOUGHTS
This design has a great mix of bold colour and delicate detail, and the combination of the stencilling with the cover die creates a really striking finished background. It is one of those cards that looks detailed and intricate without being difficult to assemble.
