The Hero Arts Friends With Flair Collection includes the adorable Jean Jacket Die & Layering Stencil Set and coordinating layering stencil set, making it easy to create fun, trendy cards. For these projects, I created two A2 cards—one with a feminine flair and the other with a more masculine style. (and I absolutely love that you can create both the front and the back of the jacket!)

Card Details

For the feminine card, the jean jacket was die cut from Blush Colorwheel Cardstock. I found it easiest to assemble the jacket first and then apply the stenciling. Using Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick, I applied varying pressure through the stencil to create natural shading and tonal variation.

The sentiment from the Totally Awesome stamp set was stamped on the back of the jacket using Versamark ink and embossed with glitter puffy embossing powder for a fun, textured look. The jacket die was also used to cut white sheet foam, and the jacket was adhered to it for dimension. Before attaching the jacket to the A2 card base, several flowers from the Got Flair Die Set were die cut from Blush and cream cardstock and randomly adhered to the background. The foam-backed jacket was then placed in the lower left corner of the card front.

For the second card, the jacket was die cut from Cascade cardstock and stenciled with Distress Oxide ink in Faded Jeans, again applying varying pressure to create subtle shading. This time, the front of the jacket was assembled. The button details were die cut from matte gold cardstock, and the peace sign from the Got Flair Die Set was cut from Indigo cardstock.

The jacket was stacked onto a foam die cut for dimensio. Before adhering it to an Indigo A2 card base, the sentiment from the Totally Awesome stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold for a bold finishing touch.

Final Thoughts

These jean jacket cards are such a fun way to play with layering, texture, and personality. Whether styled with soft florals or bold graphic details, the jacket design makes it easy to create cards with a unique sense of flair.
