Get Your GAME DAY On with Spellbinders!

Hello everyone! Spellbinder's Game Day collection is FABULOUS! These cards were created with specific people in mind. SHHHH! The football birthday card is for my grandson who plays high school football ... completely personalized, of course! No matter the sport, this collection has you covered! So much fun to create with!

FOR THE BOWLING ENTHUSIAST

  • Bristol Smooth card stock was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber. The ink was applied randomly.

  • Included in the Cut Above The Rest Sentiments Stamp and Die Set is a wood panel die that was used to cut the ink blended panel six times. Three die cuts were taped together and cut lengthwise down the middle to produce the narrow wood planking found on a bowling alley. These strips were adhered to 80 lb card stock off setting the plank joins. The panel was cut with the largest plain die from Postage Edge Slimlines. The panel was the adhered to red card stock cut with the largest postage edged die from this set and then onto a card base measuring 3 1/2" by 8 1/2".

  • The bowling pins and ball from the Sporting Goods Die Set and numbers from Jersey Numbers Die Set were cut from red and white card stock. All of the elements were also die cut from foam and stacked except for three of the five bowling pins.

  • The elements were adhered to the card front. When arranging the bowling pins, the three without foam were adhered directly to the panel and the two that were foam backed staggered on top.

  • The sentiment from the All-Star Sentiments Stamp Set was stamped with black Versafine ink on some of the left over ink blended panel. It was stacked on foam before adhering it to the card front.

SOCCER (OR FOOTBALL) anyone?

  • Using the Notched Corner Frames Die Set, the 4th largest die was used to cut green card stock and the 2nd largest black.

  • To create a soccer field, a 1/4" strip of white card stock was adhered to the centre of the green panel. Two nesting dies from Everlasting Circles Die Set were taped together to create a 1/4" circle frame that was adhered to the centre of the green panel over the centre line.

  • The green panel was adhered to the black one and then onto an A2 sized card base.

  • The soccer balls from the Sporting Goods Die Set are layered and were cut from black and white card stock. Two of the three balls were mounted on foam die cuts.

  • The soccer balls were adhered. For the overlapping pair, the foam backed ball was adhered over the one without foam.

  • The sentiment from the All-Star Sentiments Stamp Set was stamped with black Versafine ink on white card stock . It was stacked on foam before adhering it to the card front.

SHHHH! MY GRANDSON'S BIRTHDAY CARD!

  • This card reflects my grandson's jersey and his number. Love that everything can be personalized!

  • Working on Yupo paper, three shades of blue alcohol ink were used to create the background. I began by painting diagonal lines with a media paintbrush then softened it by applying a combination of alcohol and ink using a straw to move it. The panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base.

  • The jersey from Athletic Apparel Die Set was cut from blue and navy card stock and assembled. The navy numbers from Jersey Numbers Die Set were adhered and one of the two sentiments used from All-Star Sentiments Stamp Set was stamped on the shirt. The second sentiment was stamped on yellow card stock and cut with a flag end sentiment die from Mini Everyday Sentiments Hot Foil and Die Set. The sentiment was adhered above BIRTHDAY on the jersey.

  • Vellum was cut with a die from the Essential Diamonds Die Set. I do not used liquid adhesive with vellum as it will warp. Using tape runner, the vellum diamond was sandwiched between the jersey and a black foam die cut of the shirt. The vellum gets a bit of lift off of the panel and stands out more than if it was flat against it.

  • Two footballs from the Sporting Goods Die Set complete the card.

ANY HOCKEY FANS OUT THERE?!

  • Centre Ice was created much the same way as the soccer field. Of course, the ice rink markings are in blue and red. After the white panel had the markings adhered to it, it was die cut with 4th largest die from A2 Matting Basics. It was then adhered to a black panel that had been cut with the 2nd largest die from the set before being mounted onto an A2 sized card base.

  • The sentiments from All-Star Sentiments Stamp Set were stamped directly on the card front. The main sentiment was stamped in Pawsitively Saturated Ink Cherry and the secondary one in black Versafine ink.

  • The hockey stick and puck from the Sporting Goods Die Set were adhered to foam die cuts to add some dimension to the card,
