Distress Mica Stains with Spellbinder’s Serenade of Autumn featuring Water Color Resist Paper

Hello everyone! I had to use Spellbinder's Water Color Resist 6X6 Paper Pad from the Serenade of Autumn Collection again. If you like 'quick and easy' cards as much as I do, this product with its beautiful designs is a 'must have'. This time, I have abandoned the soft tones of the Distress Oxides for the boldness of Distress Mica Stains. This pigment comes in a spray bottle so these backgrounds were SUPER FAST to make! When the panels dry there is a shimmery effect from the mica and those resist designs POP ... love!

  • Three Distress Mica Stain colours were sprayed on each panel. I worked with a couple of sets; Tim Holtz Distress Holiday Mica Stain Sets 3 and 4.

  • The panels were left to dry overnight. Any stain sitting on the embossing was buffed off with a microfibre cloth.

  • They were cut with a die from the A2 Matting Basics die set and adhered to black sheet foam before being mounted on an A2 sized black card base.

  • The left over piece of the resist panel was cut with words from the Everyday Sentiments die set.

  • The shadow dies for the words were cut from both white card stock and foam. The shadow die cuts were stacked and the words adhered to them.
