This year’s holiday crafting just got a little more magical! Spellbinders newly released Classic Mouse Holiday Wreath and Classic Mouse Christmas Embellishments pair beautifully with the older Steamboat Willie Duo and Classic Mouse Borders sets to create nostalgic cards full of cheer.
Card 1 – Merry Christmas Wreath 🎅🎶
Supplies:
Steamboat Willie Duo (for Mickey)
Classic Mouse Borders (for the background)
Christmas Greetings Die Set (for sentiment)
Colorwheel Cardstock: Indigo, Cosmic Sky, Pomegranate, Fern, Chartreuse

Background: Two borders were die cut from Indigo cardstock using the Classic Mouse Border and layered on a Cosmic Sky panel to create a textured tone-on-tone background.
Focal Elements:
Mickey Mouse was accented with Pomegranate die cuts for his outfit and Santa hat.
The wreath was cut from Fern and Peridot cardstock, and the ornaments were finished with glossy Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew for a realistic shine.
Sentiment: “Sending Joy” from the Christmas Greetings Die Set was cut in coordinating red and adhered to the card front.
This card is bold, bright, and perfect for sharing a little Disney-inspired joy this holiday season.
Card 2 – Minnie’s Pretty in Pink Christmas 💗🎀
Supplies:
Steamboat Willie Duo (for Minnie)
Bow and Bell Scallop Frame Die Set (for background)
Colorwheel Cardstock: Chiffon, Blush,
Gold Treasured Cardstock (for Gold Glitter wreath)
Pink Glitter Cardstock Accents
Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew
Background: The soft scalloped panel was die cut from Chiffon cardstock and adhered to a black card base for contrast.
Focal Elements:
Minnie was dressed up with pink glitter accents and a candy cane.
The wreath was cut from Gold Glitter and Blush cardstock, topped with a layered Chiffon-and-Blush bow for a feminine touch.
The string of Christmas lights alternates between Blush and Chiffon and was finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew to give them a glassy effect.
Sentiment: A gold “Happy Holidays” banner ties the design together.
This card is soft, sweet, and perfect for those who love a pastel Christmas palette.
Design Notes
I love how these two cards tell very different stories while using the same character dies. The first one is playful and traditional, while the second is elegant and whimsical — proof that a single die set can work across many styles and color palettes!
🎨 Tip: Try creating a coordinating set with matching envelopes — one in bold reds and greens, one in soft pastels — to make a complete gift set for holiday giving.
