Graduation season is soon upon us, and what better way to honour a loved one’s achievement than with a handmade card that’s full of charm and personality. Spellbinders’ CLASSIC MOUSE GRADUATION collection makes it easy to create something truly special, whether you’re celebrating a friend, family member, or student. I’ve created two cards to showcase this release—one masculine, one feminine—featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their graduation best, along with coordinating sentiments.

Card Details
The background for both cards was created using the largest die from the Essential Stars set, cut from pearly gold cardstock and adhered to the center of an A2-sized black card base. The stars provide a subtle shimmer and a perfect focal point for the playful characters.
The mice were assembled using the Classic Mouse Graduation dies. Minnie was crafted with blush, chiffon, and matte gold cardstock, while Mickey sports plum, violet, and matte gold accents. The VIDEO TUTORIAL makes assembly straightforward, even for beginners.
Sentiments and embellishments from Classic Mouse Graduation Sentiments were foiled with gold onto white cardstock, including the large tassel. Additional dies in the set—a mortarboard, charm, and numbers—allow you to customize the year of graduation. The mortarboard and shadow dies were cut from matte gold cardstock, while the numerals were color-coordinated to match each mouse’s gown. For added dimension, foam die cuts were used to stack the elements.
To assemble the card, the tassel was tied at the top with embroidery floss, threading on the mortarboard charm, and adhered to the left-hand side of the card front. The mice were then added with foam squares, followed by stacked sentiments and scattered stars cut from the pearlized gold cardstock. Finally, gold confetti and Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew added sparkle and texture to complete the cards.
