CINDY-LOU'S POPPIES
I am kicking off Alex Syberia Design's new release with a pair of cards featuring Cindy-Lou's Poppies Stamp Set. This gorgeous set has a coordinating die set. AND all on a pretty and 'fun to create' water colour stamped background for some added colour and texture. All of the colouring on both the poppies and background have been done with Arteza Real Brush Markers. Other water based markers would work equally as well if they have a brush tip.
The poppy flower heads, stems and leaves were stamped with Versamark ink on Bristol Smooth card stock and embossed in white. Bristol Smooth can accept a small amount of water allowing the colour to transition smoothly.
The colour was applied to the base of the flower petals and leaves and 'pulled' out with a water brush pen to create a gradient.
The red poppy was coloured with Red and the leaves with Mint Green. For the pink poppy, Amaranth Pink and Rosewood were used and Lime Green for the leaves.
The flowers, leaves and stems were cut with the coordinating dies.
A panel of Bristol Smooth card stock was used for each card front.
Several different acrylic stamping blocks were chosen to 'stamp' the background.
The block is inked with the Arteza marker and spritzed with water. When the block is stamped onto the panel, it is held in place for several seconds. The stamping is dried before adding the next one. The rectangles overlap one another.
The Arteza colours used for the red poppy were Lime Green, Light Green, Fresh Green, Mint Green and Pea Green.
For the pink poppy, the Arteza colours used include Bubblegum Pink, Bubble Bath Pink, Amaranth, Purple, Lilac and Teal.
The backgrounds were die cut with a stitched rectangle die to create a 4" by 5.25" panel and mounted on on a black matted, A2 sized card base.
The poppies and leaves were adhered to the card front with foam squares. Thin foam strips were used for the stems.
Expressing Gratitude Sentiments Stamp Set was stamped with black Versafine ink on white card stock and cut with Expressing Gratitude Sentiments Die Set. This is a great sentiment set that results in 17 different sentiments stamped and cut in just a few minutes! Awesome! The sentiments were adhered with foam strips.
The cards were embellished with half pearls.
