Hello friends! What does September mean to you? The start of a new school year? The end of summer? The beginning of autumn? OR … does SIMON SAYS STAMP’S STAMPtember come to mind? I would venture to say, if you are a card maker or paper crafter, the latter is bang on! This is an exciting event for crafters and we are kicking it off with a Blog Party! Happy STAMPtember, friends! ENJOY!

BEST WITCHES is a large stamp set that can purchased on its own or as a bundle to snag the coordinating dies. I love these kitty and bunny images! They are just the cutest! I have created a gift tag to go on a Halloween treat bag, a square card and a colourful treat bag.

TREAT BAG

I started off with a black Kraft gift bag measuring 5 1/4” X 8”. A die from Nested Domed Arches was used to cut teal cardstock. Using a blending tool, the edges were lightly inked with Distress Oxide Black Soot. The panel was spattered with Distress Stain Tarnished Brass and adhered to the treat bag. Multiple stars were die cut from purple, fuchsia, lavender, and peridot card stock using the Stars die set. These dies were also used to cut black sheet foam. The stars were stacked and adhered to the arch with a few drifting onto the treat bag. Two sweet images from BEST WITCHES were stamped and Copic coloured. They were adhered amongst the stars with foam squares. The treat bag was finished off with the accompanying sentiment stamped onto fuchsia cardstock. The handle on the bag was finished off with black tulle.

5 X 5 CARD

Four pieces of coloured cardstock, purple, red, amber and teal, were cut with the smallest die in Postage Stamp Edge Frames. The panels were embossed with the Wistful Leaves Embossing Folder Using the Reverse Embossing Technique, Distress Oxide Ink Black Soot was dragged across the flat side, or the back of the panels, colouring in the background. This die was also used to cut black sheet foam, and the postage stamp frames were adhered to them. These panels were then adhered to a 5“ x 5“ black card base. The images from BEST WITCHES were Copic coloured and popped up with foam tape. The sentiment was adhered across the two panels on the bottom of the card.

GIFT TAG

A die from Mini Slimline Rectangles was used to cut a panel of black cardstock for the background. Another panel was cut from white cardstock using a smaller die. This panel was stencilled with In The Round Stencil using Distress Oxide Inks Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral and Twisted Citron. Each colour was applied individually, and the stencil moved for every application to create a Bokeh effect. The top of the panel was trimmed, following the edges of the more prominent bubbles. The images from BEST WITCHES were Copic coloured and adhered with foam tape along with the sentiment. The tag was finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White. The tie for the tag was created with black tulle.
