Hello everyone! I have a super quick and easy set of cards featuring Spellbinders' Santa Lane Christmas Card Making Kit. These cards feature a beautiful clear stamp set included in the kit ... a sweet dear and beautiful Christmas sentiments ... all embossed on patterned paper from the Santa Lane Paper Pad. Because you get two sheets of each design, I decided to make two pairs of cards choosing a different sentiment for each one. If you have many Christmas cards to make or find yourself running short, these cards come together very quickly.
For the first pair of cards, the patterned paper was cut using Spellbinders' A2 Matting Basics. Both the deer and the sentiment were embossed on the paper at the same time. The images were stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with gold. Because the paper is not as thick as cart stock, my heat tool was on the low setting and heat was applied to both the front and the back of the panel. If your heat tool does not have settings to adjust the heat temperature, the heat can be applied in short spurts. The panels were then mounted on sheet foam. I still had a little bit of warping and adhering the panels to foam took care of that problem. The card bases included in the kit were double matted; black card stock and foil card stock . The foam backed panel was adhered to it. I wanted to add a bit of dimension to the card fronts and chose this beautiful bow from the die cut shapes included in the kit. They were adhered with foam squares and painted with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard. This card was finished off with beautiful embellishments included in the kit.
For the second pair of cards, two designs of the patterned paper were chosen and die cut with A2 Matting Basics. The small rectangular panel was embossed with the deer and a cute sentiment that says 'handmade with love'. Like the previous cards, these panels were mounted on foam. The card bases were matted with gold foil card stock and the large floral panel adhered to it. Before attaching the small panel, the puffy sticker sentiments included in the kit were positioned with the coordinating secondary sentiment at the top of the card. Once the sentiments were in place, the foam backed panel was adhered to the card and finished up with beautiful gem embellishments.
