Hello everyone! When you have hot foil images that need colouring, try ink smooshing! This process not only gives your images colour but beautiful tonal variations and texture … perfect for Spellbinders’ GLIMMERING AUTUMN WOODS.
Working with Distress Oxide inks on scraps of Bristol Smooth card stock, I ‘ink smooshed’ several different colour combinations using Bundled Sage, Worn Lipstick, Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke. I lightly sprayed one of the grey pieces with Hickory Smoke Distress Stain and reserved it for the toadstool. I foiled all of the images on ink smooshed card stock with gorgeous Champagne foil and then used the accompanying dies to cut them. The stand alone foliage dies were also cut from the inked card stock. The acorn, toadstool and a couple of the larger leaves were mounted on foam die cuts.
A circle edged with foliage from CHRISTMAS FOLIAGE CIRCLE BORDER and a dotted border from the MINI SLIMLINE NESTED GLIMMER DOTS were used to foil grey card stock with the Champagne foil. The circle was mounted on a foam die cut. The grey panel with the dotted border and the pink card stock layer were die cut using the MINI SLIMLINE ENVELOPE AND NESTED CARD CREATOR. The layered panels were mounted on a card base measuring 6 1/2”by 3 3/4”. The ink smooshed pieces were arranged on the card. The sentiment was foiled on grey card stock and mounted on foam. Blush and gold confetti topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew embellished the card. Bubblegum Blush Nuvo Drops were used on the berry branches and a few additional accents.
