Layered Stamping featuring Altenew’s Layered Laurel

Updated: May 16, 2023

Hello everyone! I am in love with Altenew's Layered Laurelu! Really, it had me at 'layered stamping'! I love the beautiful visual dimension that is so easily created in a 'one layer' card. This is a relatively quick and definitely easy card to make! And don't you just love the sentiment from Beautiful Inside!

  • Light pink card stock was ink blended using a blending brush with Altenew Puffy Heart Crisp Dye Ink and Cotton Candy. Puffy Heart, the darker of the two, was applied on the left hand side of the panel. It was blended out with Cotton Candy and a pigment white ink about half way across the panel.

  • The Layered Laurel stamp set comes with two sizes of leafy branches. Each branch has the base stem with a few leaves and then three additional leafy stamps to layer on. For this card, each of the two different branch sizes were stamped twice. The large branches sweep down from the top of the panel and the smaller ones from the lower left hand side.

  • The stamp with the stem was stamped first with darkest pink, Puffy Heart.

  • Two of leafy layers were stamped with Cotton Candy and white pigment ink. Because the light pink does not show well over the area of the panel with the dark pink blending, I stamped first with the white ink and then followed up with two stampings of the Cotton Candy.

  • The panel was left to dry completely before stamping the final layer with Versamark ink and embossing it in gold.

  • The sentiment from Beautiful Inside was also gold embossed.

  • Masking the sentiment, the panel was spattered with watered down, white gouache and Tarnished Brass Distress Stain using a fan brush.

  • The panel was trimmed to 4" by 5 1/4" mounted on foam and adhered to an A2 sized top folding card base matted with gold card stock.
