Introducing Picket Fence Studio’s New Paper Pouncers

Updated: Mar 15, 2023

Hello fellow card makers! I love stencilling backgrounds and I encourage you to try the new Paper Pouncers Bright Rainbow and Paper Pouncers Neutrals to apply ink.  As the name suggests, the ink is applied in a pouncing motion giving a perfect result for even the most delicate of stencils and die cuts. I love that there is a Pouncer for each ink colour and a case to protect the sponge applicator and prevent ink from getting on your work surface. This new concept for ink application is AWESOME! Today's cards feature other new products; Plant Happy Thoughts, Pathways 6x6 Stencil, Slim Line Happy Birthday, Slim Line Tree Bark Stencil and a seamless stamp, Presents For All Seasons.

  • A panel of Bristol Smooth Card stock and masking paper were stamped with Plant Happy Thoughts using Black Hybrid Ink. The masking paper image was cut and the other image masked.

  • A piece of Post It Note Tape was placed across the panel less than half way from the bottom. Using a blending brush, Tumbled Glass Distrss Oxide Ink was applied to the lower portion fading it out to white.

  • The Post It Note Tape was moved to the top edge of the Tumbled Glass and a light coat of Fossilized Amber was applied to the upper panel.

  • Card stock was stamped with the Seamless Stamp, Presents For All Seasons using Distress Oxide Inks Sweet Taffy and Picked Raspberry. The panel was trimmed to 8 1/2" by 3 1/2".

  • Two panels were stencilled with Slim Line Tree Bark Stencil in the same inks used for the stamping. A slim line sized panel was first inked with Taffy using a blender brush. It was then stencilled in the Picked Raspberry with Paper Pouncers Bright Rainbow. A second, smaller panel was also stencilled for the sentiment.

  • The stitched die from 2.5" Connected Circles Shaker Creator was used to cut three circles. Acetate was adhered to the back of the circles. The second die from the shaker creator set was used to cut foam. Because the space between the circles was narrow, the foam for the middle circle was adhered first and the two die cuts for either side were trimmed to fit. Additional foam tape was added around the perimeter.

  • To assemble the shaker easily, the card front is placed inside a Misti with the foam insert removed. It is butted into one corner and the shaker material, Oink Oink Sequin Mix Plus, added to each circle. The backing paper was removed from the foam and the corner of the stencilled panel was first adhered onto the panel up against the corner before laying it flat.

  • The shaker was adhered to a card base measuring 3 1/2" by 81/2".

  • The second stencilled card stock was cut with Slim Line Happy Birthday. Three additional die cuts from white card stock were stacked and finished off with the stencilled sentiment before adhering it to the card.
