Inlaid Paper Piecing featuring Spellbinders' Colour Block Cloudscape

Hello everyone! I love Spellbinders' Colour Block Background Collection! Colour Block Cloudscape is a wonderful addition featuring three dies with different cloud profiles. The dies are various lengths making them suitable for any card size including slim lines. My card combines Colour Block Cloudscape with Colour Block Landscape.

Various card stock colours were chosen for the landscape; soft pink, lavender, blue violet, dark pink and navy. Three of the colours were repeated in the sky. The landscape portion of the card was cut using a single die from Colour Block Landscape and paper pieced like a puzzle. Scotch tape was used to hold everything together.

The three colours of card stock for the sky were trimmed to a width of 4 1/4”. The first section, the dark pink card stock, was cut with the top of the landscape die. This section will piece together with the top of the landscape to form the horizon. A piece of amber cardstock is also cut with the top of the landscape die. The die cut edges forming the horizon for both the pink and amber card stock were aligned and cut with the circle die included in Colour Block Landscape. To create the cloud layers, first the navy cardstock was overlapped on the pink and die cut with one of the dies from Colour Block Cloudscape. Die cutting both pieces at once will allow the two cloud layers to piece together. The same process was followed for the final layer by overlapping the blue violet on the navy card stock. The cloud layers and sun were pieced together with the landscape using scotch tape. The panel was die cut with a rectangular die and mounted on black sheet foam.

A top folding, A2 sized card base was matted with black card stock and the foam backed card front attached. The sentiment from Layered Mix & Match Sentiments was cut out of blue violet card stock and black foam and stacked. The card was embellished with confetti that matched the colours of the card stock. The confetti was finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
