Glimmer Foil Gift Bag featuring Spellbinders’ Something Special & Create A Flutter & Flower Bow
Updated: May 4, 2022
Hello everyone! I have used Spellbinder’ Gift Bag die set previously … so easy to make … and decided I would create a pretty bag suitable for a birthday or Mother’s Day featuring a couple of new products. The Something Special glimmer foil plates comes with two large sentiments suitable for taking centre stage on a card or, in this case, a gift bag! And, the Create A Flutter & Flower Bow is an adorable die set! I used the butterfly accessory but it also comes with an equally sweet flower to dress up the pretty bow.
The Gift Bag was constructed of a soft rose coloured card stock. I like to use a strong adhesive, Sookwang Double-sided Tape, for a project like this. Before the bag was assembled, the sentiment from Something Special was foiled on one of the di cut panels. Please view the video tutorial to see how it was centred on the section that would become the front of the bag.
The bag was decorated with a floral design using Spellbinders’ Glimmer Edge Roses. The roses were foiled on pink card stock using the Pink Glimmer Hot Foil Roll. The leaves were foiled on both mint and green card stock with Pink Glimmer Hot Foil Roll.
The bow and ribbon from Create A Flutter & Flower Bow were die cut from pink card stock. The bow was shaped before adhering it to the ribbon. The butterfly was cut from both pink card stock and vellum. The dot detail on the card stock die cut was embellished with crystals. It was adhered to the centre of the bow rolled by the vellum die cut. The bow centre was wrapped with the band die cut. To create a removable bow, a second longer strip of card stock was cut and adhered only to the top of the first band. Velcro strips were adhered to either end and the bow attached to the handles of the gift bag.
