Floral Digital Stamps with Joy Clair Designs

Hello everyone! I am honoured to be a Guest Designer for Joy Clair Designs for their new release. I have a couple of cards featuring the Modern Duets and You Make Me Proud digital stamp sets! I hope you enjoy the post!

Modern Duets .... Ink Blending

The florals in this digital set are available as lined or solid images. I arranged three of the solid images, carnation, peony and dream lily, in a vertical arc, slightly overlapping them. Bristol Smooth cardstock was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks; Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Old Paper. The images were printed directly on the inked paper and fussy cut with a thin border edge. Bristol Smooth, black card stock and black foam were die cut with Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitched Scalloped Rectangles. The following die cuts were used to construct the base; the black card stock frame was stacked on the foam one and the Bristol Smooth rectangle for the centre. The rectangle was ink blended with the same colours as the panel used when printing the digital images. Black card stock was trimmed to 3 3/4" by 8 3/4' and mounted on a card base of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock. The foam backed frame and ink blended panel were adhered to the card base. Foam was attached to the underside of the floral arc and attached to the card.

The sentiment, also printed on ink blended paper, was foam mounted. The sentiments were cut into 3 strips. The card was finished off with iridescent sequins topped off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.

You Make Me Proud ... Painting with Distress Oxide Inks

I began this card by printing both the floral image and sentiment on Canson XL water colour paper. The painting was done with Distress Oxide stamp pads. The ink was smooshed on my work mat and picked up with a water brush pen.

  • Flowers - Shaded Lilac, Worn Lipstick

  • Flower Centres - Bundled Sage

  • Backgrounds - Faded Jeans, Shaded Lilac

Both the floral image and sentiment were die cut with Simon Says Stamp's Thin Circle Frames. Matte gold card stock and foam were also cut. The water colour panels were mounted on the foam die cuts and encircled with a gold frame.

A panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock was embossed using Simon Says Stamp's Splendid Leaves embossing folder. It was mounted on an A2 sized card base and the floral image adhered. Because the foam backed sentiment overlapped the main panel, another layer foam was added on the overhang. The card was embellished with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard.
