BOO! featuring Simon Says Stamp’s Batty For You

Hello everyone! This bat!!! Isn't he adorable?! Batty For You is part of Simon Says Stamp's new release, Cozy Hugs, in time for Halloween! I just received the stamp set, Batty For You, but there is a coordinating die set to make this bat interactive .... so if you are interested in a flying bat ... on paper, of course!!! Super cute!

  • The background was created on Bristol Smooth card stock. The 4" x 5 1/4" panel was masked with a circle cut from masking paper. Distress Mica Stains Wnter Frost and Shiny Bauble were sprayed on.

  • The mask was removed a wet paint brush was used to soften the texture of the background. Some of the colour was pulled in to the moon.

  • White gouache was watered down and the moon was painted giving it an eerie glow.

  • The panel was spattered with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter.

  • The panel was mounted on black sheet foam and adhered to an A2 sized, black, top folding card base,

  • The Batty For You stamp set consists of the body, two wings, choices of eyes and mouths and several sentiments.

  • The bat's body and wings were stamped with Black Versafine ink and clear embossed. I then stamped and embossed the eyes and mouth.

  • The bat and a small piece of card stock were Copic coloured with BV17, 11 & 01.

  • The Copic coloured card stock and black foam were cut with Boo Word & Shadow Die and stacked.

  • After the bat pieces were fussy cut, a fine black marker was applied to the edges.

  • The bat was laid out on the card to position the wings. They were adhered with adhesive just on the triangular point and the ends of the wings were propped up with regular foam squares.

  • The body was adhered with low profile foam squares.

  • After the sentiment was attached. black iridescent sequins finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew were used to embellish the card.
