  • I began by creating a colour wash background on Canson XL water colour paper using tubes of water colour paint: Fuschia and Light Gold. I wanted to create a band of intense colour that would fade so chose to work with these concentrated paints. Please view the VIDEO TUTORIAL for the complete process.

  • Next the flowers and leaves were die cut from Bristol Smooth card stock.

  • Altenew's Dye Inks were applied with daubers to colour the die cuts. For the flower centres, Warm Sunshine was applied. Just a touch of Cotton Candy was applied to the base of the flower petals and faded out to white. For the leaves, Forest Glades was used at the base of the leaf and they were finished off with Frayed Leaf.

  • The flower petals were shaped using a ball tool on a shaping mat. For detailed instructions, please go to the VIDEO TUTORIAL.

  • Following the guide included with the die set, the flowers were assembled.

  • The background panel was spattered with Distress Stain Tarnished Brass and the flowers and leaves with Dr. PH Martin's Bleed Proof White.

  • Along the line of intense colour on the background, a strip of gold glitter washi tape was adhered.

  • 3/4" was trimmed off the left hand side of the panel to allow a band of the card base to be exposed when it was adhered to an A2 sized, black card base.

  • Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard was applied to the edges of the flower petals.

  • For the sentiment, Essential Sentiment Hot Foil Plate was foiled in gold on black card stock. The coordinating die was used to cut them. I chose one sentiment and cut a 'flag end'.

  • The flowers and leaves were arranged following the line of the washi tape border. The sentiment was tucked in to the side of the bottom flower.

  • The card was embellished with gold pearls.
