Hello everyone! Let me begin by saying Spellbinders' Santa Lane Cardmaking Christmas Kit is AMAZING!!! If you want to see everything that is included, have a look at the UNBOXING VIDEO on my YouTube channel HERE! This post is the first of three where different aspects of the kit are explored. Today’s focus is working with the DIE CUT SENTIMENTS and SHAPES to create FAST AND EASY Christmas tags.
I created two tags for each design. The Santa Lane 6" by 6" papers were large enough to cut two tags from each sheet and the packages of Die Cut Shapes and Sentiments contain two of each of the elements. Making two tags for each design made a lot of sense as there was not a lot of additional time needed to do this.
Create a Decorative Tag was used to cut the tags. I chose 6 sheets of patterned paper from the Santa Lane Paper Pad and cut 12 tags .... two from each sheet of paper. The paper is not as thick as card stock so 12 tags from the white card stock provided in the kit were also cut. The paper tags were adhered to the card stock ones. The elements were adhered to the tags; some directly and others popped up with the foam squares provided in the kit. For the snowflake tag, the Gold Puffy Snowflakes also included in the kit were incorporated in the background. These tags came together very quickly!
Many of the tags were embellished with the gold sequins provided in the kit. They were finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew. Nuvo Crystal Glaze was applied to the snow globe and, when dry, dotted with small white Nuvo Drops. Nuvo Jewel Drops Sea Breeze was added to the windows on the houses. This tag also had the addition of some stars from the Die Cut Shapes found in the kit. Oh! And Nuvo Glitter Drops white blizzard was painted on to the dove and grey star!
