You Shine with Simon Says Stamp's Born to Sparkle Release

Hello everyone! Simon Says Stamp has yet another FABULOUS release ... BORN TO SPARKLE! I am excited to share three cute mini slimline cards featuring the wafer die, YOU SHINE! This is a two piece die set that includes the background with the cut out of the word 'shine' and a separate script 'you'. Isn't it awesome! I will definitely be using this set over and over again ... birthdays, graduations, accomplishments .... I could go on but I will stop! You get the picture ... it is versatile!

For the first card, I used Simon Says Stamp's Mini Slimline Rectangles to die cut two different sized layers on Bristol Smooth card stock. The smaller layer was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks Scattered Straw, Shaded Lilac and Mermaid Lagoon. The panel was left to dry completely before proceeding. The edge was run along a Versamark ink pad and embossed with Ink on 3's Gold Rush embossing powder. This panel was mounted on white sheet foam before being adhered to larger die cut panel that had also been embossed around the perimeter in gold. It was adhered to a card base of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock measuring 2 3/4" by 5 7/8". The background die for the sentiment, You Shine, was cut from both foam and the Neenah card stock. The card stock piece was embossed in gold and stacked on the foam. The script 'you' was die cut from Bristol Smooth ink blended with the same colours used on the panel. This card was embellished with LOTS of gold confetti topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew!

Like the first card, this one started off with two die cut panels from the Mini Slimline Rectangles. The smaller layer was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks Picked Raspberry, Faded Jeans and Mermaid Lagoon. When completely dry, the bottom half of the card was sprinkled with Wow! Metallic Silver embossing powder. The underside of the panel was heated with the heat tool until the powder stuck and then finished off by heating the top side. I repeated this process a number of times .... you can always add more but you can't undo it if you have too much! As I worked, I concentrated the sprinkles at the base of the panel letting the sparkle gradually dissipate as it moved toward the centre. It was adhered to foam and a card base of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock measuring 2 3/4" by 5 7/8". The background die for the sentiment, You Shine, was cut from both foam and the Neenah card stock and stacked. The script 'you' was die cut from Bristol Smooth ink blended with the same colours used on the panel. I added in some super tiny dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops Silver Lining by applying a light pressure to the bottle and touching it quickly to the panel surface. I practiced first!

For my final card, I die cut just one layer from the Mini Slimline Rectangles. It was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Scattered Straw. The panel was left to dry completely before proceeding. The panel was embossed with Simon Says Stamp's Splendid Leaves Circle Frame. Before embossing, I inked the panel with Versamark ink My embossing sandwich in the Big Shot die cutter was Panel 1, one piece of Neenah 110lb cardstock to act as a shim and the top cutting plate. The embossed panel was covered with Simon Says Stamp Clear White Detail embossing powder. You can see a glimpse of the pretty shine in the photo above! It was adhered to foam and a card base of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock measuring 2 3/4" by 5 7/8". The background die for the sentiment, You Shine, was cut from both foam and the Neenah card stock. The card stock piece was embossed in Simon Says Stamp's Cream embossing powder and mounted on the foam. The script 'you' was die cut from Bristol Smooth ink blended with the same colours used on the panel. The tiny berries in the embossed background were highlighted with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard.
