Water Colouring Studio Katia’s Japanese Peony

Hello everyone! Today's card features a gorgeous image by Studio Katia, Japanese Peony. I have water coloured it using a couple of different mediums; pigment powders and metallic liquid water colour. The metallic paint provides a delicate shimmer. So beautiful!

  • Japanese Peony Stamp Set comes with 3 images; the main floral and two additional leaf stamps. There are also several sentiments. The peony and leaves were stamped on Canson XL Water Colour paper with Versamark ink and embossed with Wow! Clear Matte Embossing Powder.

  • The peony was given a colour wash using Nuvo Shimmer Powder Cherry Bomb.. Depth was added with Liquid Metal's Metallic Ruby at the base of the petals.

  • The leaves were painted with Nuvo Shimmer Powder Lime Green.

  • Japanese Peony has a coordinating die set. The flower and leaves were die cut. The die for the peony was also used to cut white sheet foam. The flower was mounted on the foam die cut.

  • A simple white on white background was created using the Half Tone Dots Cover Die. It was adhered to an A2 sized, top folding card base.

  • The foam backed peony was positioned temporarily on the card so that the leaf die cuts could be positioned and adhered. The peony was then adhered.

  • The sentiment was stamped on white card stock. The sentiment and foam were cut with a flag die from the Mini Slimline Set One. It was stacked and adhered to the card.

  • The card was embellished with Rouge Pink Crystals.
