I am happy to finally have the time and energy .... sort of! ... to share Spellbinders' Universal Curved Border Set from April! A little late but it took much longer than I thought to get the house organized after the move. And the craft room ... I purged before I moved, brought all my organizational pieces and furniture to my new and bigger space and did not have enough room for everything! What! I had to make a trip to Ikea to pick up a couple of additional pieces. Anyways, I am mostly set up now and working on labelling so I can find everything!
I think Spellbinders' April large die set is one of my favourites. I just love it! This set includes four slimline border dies, flowers and leaves. I chose jewel tones to showcase the beautiful die cuts. I hope you like it!
I began by cutting a navy card stock background with Pinkfresh Studio's largest die in the Slim Stitched Rectangles die set. Blue Violet card stock was die cut with the second largest die and the bottom of it cut with the Spellbinders' border floral design. The trellis die was positioned just along the stitched detail of the previous die cut and held in place with low tack tape before die cutting. The solid area of the blue violet panel was mounted on black sheet foam. I used the the plain curved border die to trim the foam so it would match the curve above the trellis die cut. The panel was adhered to a card base of 110lb Neenah Classic Crest card stock measuring 8 5/8" by 3 5/8".
Flowers were die cut from teal, pink and blue cardstock and adhered to the matching flowers on the floral border. Additional leaves were die cut from matte gold cardstock and tucked under the flowers. The HELLO die cut sentiment was borrowed from Spellbinders' March Large Die of the Month set. It was also die cut with matte gold card stock and stacked on black foam. A couple of small flowers were added in to the solid area of the panel to balance the sentiment. The centres of the flowers were adorned with gold confetti and topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew. Additional embellishments were added in with Crystal Drops Mustard Gold.
