Simon Says Stamp's You Shine

Well this is my first card in my new home in St. Albert, Alberta. The carpet in my craft room was just replaced with something a little more resistant to the shenanigans I sometimes get myself into! All my furniture and supplies are piled high in the garage! This weekend .... one more big push to get my craft room in order and the move is more or less complete! Sigh! It has been exhausting!

So now my card ... let me begin by saying it took me about the same amount of time to find the supplies and materials needed as it did to make it! But it was worth the little bit of extra effort! I hope you like it!

I began by ink blending Bristol Smooth card stock with Distress Oxide inks Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Scattered Straw. While the panel dried, I covered another smaller panel of Bristol with Scattered Straw and embossed it with Simon Says Stamp's Fine Clear Embossing Powder. The outline die from You Shine was used to die cut both the embossed panel and white sheet foam. These die cuts were stacked using Tombow adhesive. After the adhesive was applied to the foam, I let it dry completely before stacking. The tackiness allows the die cuts to be repositioned for a good period of time. I needed to remove the foam from the area that would over lap the floral image but needed all the elements completed to determine how much. The scripty YOU from the die set was cut from white card stock and adhered to the stacked base.

The ink blended card stock, white sheet foam and white card stock were die cut with Simon Says Stamp's Slimline Scallop Frame. This die set produces a scalloped frame and a rectangle. The white card stock frame was adhered to a card base measuring 3 3/4" by 8 3/4". The rectangular ink blended panel was mounted on foam and attached to the card base.

I stamped the floral border from Simon Says Stamp's Slimline Florals on Bristol Smooth card stock with Scattered Straw and embossed it with Simon Says Stamp's Fine Clear Embossing Powder. The image and foam were die cut with the coordinating die and coloured with Zig markers:

Background Blue

Flowers Light Pink

Flower Centres and Bar Mustard

Rounded Leaves Light Green

Pointed Leaves Turquoise Green, Light Pink

The border was stacked on foam and lined up with the left side of the rectangle. The You Shine die cut was adhered after removing the foam that overlapped the floral image. The card was embellished with Nuvo Crystal Drops Sugared Almonds.
