Hello! I hope this post finds you in good spirits. Admittedly, I have ups and downs ... at times, I feel positive and hopeful and then I go through periods of doubt. I try to keep myself focussed and busy ... crafting helps a lot! Still the sheer enormity of this crisis weighs heavily on my mind. To brighten my mood, I thought I would make a couple of Spring themed cards featuring Simon Says Stamp's Woodland Whimsy and Tulip Collage.
The Top Panel:
Nuvo Shimmer Powder, Falling Leaves, was used to colour one panel while the other was coloured with Green Parade to give a suggestion of a woodland backdrop. The panels and two pieces white sheet foam were die cut using Simon Says Stamp's Tulip Collage. A Stitched Rectangle die was centred on the panels to die cut. Two smaller pieces of card stock were coloured with Ken Oliver's Liquid Metals, Metallic Turquoise.
The Elements
The fawn, bunny and foliage were stamped with Ink On 3's Fadeout Ink on Bristol Smooth card stock. The images were coloured with Zig Real Brush pens to give a no-line, watercolour look. All of the elements were fussy cut.
Putting It All Together
The top panels were adhered to the die cut foam pieces with Aleene's Tacky Spray and trimmed. The sentiment, Thinking Of You, was stamped using Versafine ink. The tulip blooms were painted yellow with Arteza gouache and the fawn and bunny were glued to the blue panels. These blue panels were attached to the back of the top panels and glued to A2 sized card bases. To finish this card, the foliage was adhered to frame the sentiment and Nuvo Crystal Drops, Yellow Dandelion, was used to highlight the berries and placed around the foliage.
