Simon Says Stamp’s Sweet Wishes Release featuring Artsy Florals

Writer: Bonnie CraneBonnie Crane

Hello friends! It is mid month and time for a new release with Simon Says Stamp’s Sweet Wishes. My card features a whimsical stamp set called Artsy Florals. This design involves masking which does take a little bit of time. However, the rainbow colouring is quick and easy. The multitude of colour adds to this sweet array of fanciful flowers.

  • The flowers were stamped on Masking Paper and fussy cut. When cutting out the images, I made sure to cut on the inside of the line.

  • The flowers were then stamped on white card stock. I began with the one that I wanted to sit forefront in the design and then masked it. The three flowers that would be slightly tucked underneath the main flower were stamped next. The flower on the top right of the card was masked to stamp the final flower to the right of it.

  • Distress Oxide Inks were applied diagonally with a blending tool across the panel over the flower section using Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet.

  • The background was coloured with Copic marker B99. To get an even tone the ink was applied in the same direction with a second coat.

  • The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink and gold embossed.

  • The circle details on the flowers were coloured with a Gold Gel Pen.

  • The sentiment was masked and the panel spattered using a Fan Brush withDistress Stain Tarnished Brass.

  • The panel was trimmed to 4” x 5 1/4” and adhered to Matte Gold Cardstock measuring 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”. The card front was mounted on an A2 sized white card base.
