Hello everyone! Welcome to Simon Says Stamp's Rainbow release. I am happy to share two cards using the gorgeous background stamp, Delicate Outline Flowers. I was inspired by some fabric swatches for today's cards and needed a flat, opaque finish. Enter gouache! These cards are painted with Arteza Gouache. Gouache is closely related to watercolour but has the addition of chalk (in the more affordable gouache paints!). This addition makes the paint opaque and flat in appearance.
I began my cards by embossing oversized panels of black Stonehenge Aqua Coldpress water colour paper. The stamp was inked with Versamark. One panel was embossed with Wow! Metallic Silver and the other with Ink On 3's Gold Rush. The panels were trimmed to A2 size (5 1/2" by 4 1/4") and painted with Arteza Gouache:
Silver Embossed Panel
Red Flowers- Vermilion Red
Teal Flowers- mixed Cerulean Blue and Sap Green
Leaves- Sap Green
Gold Embossed Panel
Yellow Flowers- Mid Yellow
Blue Flowers- mixed Ultramarine Blue and White
Leaves- mixed Rose and White
The panels were die cut with frame dies from Simon Says Stamp's Frames. The interior panels were mounted on black sheet foam for dimension. The panels were mounted on A2 sized card bases of 110lb Neenah Classic Crest card stock covered with black card stock. The sentiments, Simon's Happy Birthday Brush Script and Thank You for Being A Friend, were die cut from both black card stock and black foam and stacked.
The cards were finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops; Silver Lining on the silver embossed card and Mustard Gold on the other one.
