‘Ink Smooshing’ featuring Simon Says Stamp’s Simple Stem

Updated: Jan 12

Hello, everyone! I have an easy ink smooshed card featuring Simon Says Stamp's Simple Stem die. I love leafy dies! I know I will use this one time and time again ... on its own, with other dies, and for any season (I am definitely going to make a wreath with this one!) Timeless and a great price point!

The Background

An A2 sized panel of Bristol Smooth card stock was ink smooshed with Distress Oxide inks; Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke and Peacock Feathers. I applied the inks one at a time and partially dried the panel between applications. The panel and Fog Grey card stock were cut with the 2nd largest die from Simon Says Stamp's A2 Thin Frames. The outer portion of the ink smooshed panel and the grey thin frame were taped together and adhered to a card base. The ink smooshed rectangle was mounted on white sheet foam before it was attached.

The Elements

Another piece of Bristol Smooth card stock was inked with Pumice Stone and spattered with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter. Three stems were die cut from it. The sentiment, Simon Says Stamp's Big Hugs, was die cut three times and stacked. An additional frame was cut using the 3rd largest A2 Thin Frame die. After the elements were adhered, Studio Katia's Blue Sky crystals finished up the card.
