Ink Blending with Simon Says Stamp’s Garden Greetings

Hi everyone! I have a set of three cards featuring Simon Says Stamp’s July card kit. I always post way after the fact because international mail delivery is SO SLOW! This kit is sold out (Most of them do very quickly which is why I subscribe!) but all the products are sold individually and available if the stamp set or sentiment die strikes your fancy.

THREE CARDS … WHAT’S THE SAME?

  • The ink blended backgrounds are done on Bristol Smooth card stock with Distress Oxide inks.

  • The panels are edge to edge and mounted on A2 sized (4 1/4” by 5 1/2”), top folding card bases. I like to use Neenah Classic Crest 110 lb card stock for a sturdy card.

  • ‘The cards are embellished with either gold or silver confetti topped off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.

SENDING HUGS

The inks used for the background were Speckled Egg, Pumice Stone and Hickory smoke. The panel and silver foil card stock were die cut with one of the dies from Simon’s Thin Circle Frames. Two smaller sentiments were used for this card. One was stamped in the centre of the die cut circle and the other on the panel in Black Onyx Versafine ink. The circle die cut was cut again with a smaller plain circle die to fit under the wreath and stacked on black foam. The wreath was stamped with Versamark on a smaller panel ink blended with Speckled Egg and Pumice Stone and embossed in silver.

The panel, the thin silver and outer border of the circle die cut were adhered to the card base. The foam backed circle was attached. Foam squares were used on the wreath to pop it up from the foam mounted circle. The card was finished off with vellum die cuts. Simon’s Simple Stems was cut five times and then modified to create a circular border under the wreath. They were adhere with glue on the stems. The card was finished off with Simon’s Etched Dragonfly.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUGS

The background for this card was done up with Crackling Campfire, Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw. The leafy arrangement stamped was with Versa mark and embossed in gold. The panel was turned 180 degrees in the stamping platform and stamped again and embossed. Happy Birthday was stamped with black Versafine ink and clear embossed.

Simon’s Big Scripty Hugs includes a shadow die that I did not use for this card. HUGS was die cut from both matte gold card stock and black foam and stacked. One of the smaller dies from Simon’s A2 Thin Frames was used to die cut the panel and matte gold card stock. The panel, mounted on foam, and the thin gold frame were adhered to the card base. The sentiment die cut was adhered to the small rectangular panel.

HUGS LOVE YOU

The background for this softly coloured card was done in Iced Spruce, Old Paper and Spun Sugar. The garland was stamped with Iced Spruce and clear embossed. Hugs, the primary sentiment, was stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold two times. The secondary sentiment was stamped with Iced Spruce and also clear embossed.

The panel was die cut with the largest die from Simon’s Stitched Rectangles. The outer border was retained to create the double stitched detail and adhered to the card base. The rectangle panel was mounted on black foam and also adhered to the card base.
