Hello everyone! Home Sweet Home is a stamp set included in the July Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp (The kit is sold out BUT the stamp set is available for separate purchase!). I know I am posting 'about two card kits behind' but the international mail situation is not my friend these days! All my parcels are taking forever to get here! AND I LOVE THIS STAMP SET ... so I went for it! Better late than never! Each of the five cards were made with a HOME SWEET HOME in mind!
Card 1
The first up is a slimline card. The panels were die cut with Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitched Rectangles Essentials. The lower half of the Bristol Smooth card stock panel was ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks Iced Spruce and Bundled Sage using My Favorite Things' Hillside Stencil. The rest of the background was inked using Milled Lavender and Stormy Sky with MFT's Cloud Stencil. The building scape in the Home Sweet Home stamp set is one long stamp. I masked off sections and used Simon Says Stamp's Intense Black Ink to stagger the stamped images on the hillsides. After the fun sentiment was stamped, the images were copic coloured.
Buildings: BV04,08, 11, 13,17, W4, 6, 9
Trees: BG96, 99
A blue violet card stock panel was die cut using the largest stitched die from Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitched Rectangles Essentials. The layered panels were adhered to a 4" by 9" card base. The lighted windows and the top of the lamp posts were coated with Nuvo Crystal Glaze and the card was embellished with Soft Mint Nuvo Crystal Drops.
Card 2
An ink blended background was created using Taylored Expression's Masking Rectangles Stencils and Distress Oxide Inks Candied Apple, Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavender on Bristol Smooth card stock. The outer portion of the rectangle stencil was used to position the rectangle stencil that had been coated with Pixie Spray. The ink blending was done with good pressure to create deep colour. The rectangle stencil was removed and the outer portion of the stencil was then over laid on the panel to expose the white area. The ink blending in this are used the same inks but with a light pressure. This stencil was left in place so Simon Says Stamp's Daisy Bouquet Stencil could be positioned in the lower, right hand corner. Russian White Nuvo Crackle Mousse was applied and left to dry completely. The image and sentiment were stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. The building was given some additional colour with red and purple Zig markers. After the panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base, it was embellished with clear sequins topped up with Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops.
Card 3
This slimline, night scene featuring silhouettes began with Bristol Smooth card stock die cut with the largest plain rectangle from Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitched Rectangles Essentials. The panel was masked using the full width of the Post It Tape around the perimeter leaving a narrow rectangle. The ink blending was done with Distress Oxide inks Black Soot, Pine Needles, Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac. Using a large Misti, the building scape was stamped with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. The images were coloured with a Sharpie Permanent Marker. A few windows were left uncoloured and painted with yellow Gouache paint. The lines between the panes were touched up with a Fude Ball 1.5 pen. The sentiment was stamped in black and the panel was adhered to blue violet cardstock die cut with the largest stitched rectangle from Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitched Rectangles Essentials and a 4" by 9" card base. A few stars were stamped using an acrylic block, coloured with a copic marker Y15 and given a sparkly appearance with White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops. Nuvo Crystal Glaze was used to coat both the lighted windows and the tops of the lamp posts.
Card 4
Beginning with a stitched rectangle die cut of Bristol Smooth card stock, Taylored Expressions Masking Oval Stencil was used to apply Distress Oxide Inks Black Soot, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. With the stencil left in place, Simon Says Stamp's Falling Snow Stencil was overlaid to apply Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel to the upper portion of the inked oval. When the gel was dry, the images and sentiments were stamped in black. Copic markers BG72 and 75 were used for the banner and C6, 8 and 10 for the plane. The panel was adhered to soft navy card stock and then to an A2 sized card base. The banner was coated with Nuvo Crystal Glaze and the card embellished with Caribbean Ocean Nuvo Crystal Drops.
Card 5
The final card also begins with a stitched rectangle die cut from Bristol Smooth card stock. Taylored Expressions Masking Circle Stencil was used to apply Distress Oxide Inks Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick. Using the circle stencil and Pixie Spray to cover the ink blended area, Simon Says Stamp's Waves Stencil was overlaid to apply Russian White Nuvo Crackle Mousse. The images were stamped on a card stock, coloured simply with R30, RV 32 and 34 copic markers and fussy cut. The stencilled panel was glued to cotton candy card stock and to an A2 sized card base before the images were adhered to the panel with strips of foam squares. The hearts were stamped directly on the panel and coloured with the same markers. Dot detail was added to the ink blended area with Simply White Nuvo Crystal Drops. The hearts were coated with Nuvo Crystal Glaze.
