The cards today feature a foam backed, red rubber stamp HEXAGON BACKGROUND! The backgrounds for each of the four cards were ink blended on Bristol Smooth card stock with Distress Oxide inks and the panels embossed using the HEXAGON BACKGROUND red rubber stamp:
White Embossed Panel - Iced Spruce, Old Paper, Rustic Wilderness, Mowed Lawn
Gold Embossed Panel - Crackling Campfire, Kitsch Flamingo, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin
Silver Embossed Panel - Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, Salvaged Patina
Stamped with Black Onyx Versafine and Clear Embossed - Black Soot, Prized Ribbon, Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke
The parallelograms were painted with a watered down gouache to enhance the
3-dimensional qualities of the hexagons. All of the cards were embellished with confetti topped up with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew. They were adhered to A2 sized card bases.
The panel for this card was die cut with Simon’s STITCHED RECTANGLES. The shadow die from the CAPITAL B BEAUTIFUL die set was used to cut the panel and white sheet foam. ‘Beautiful’ was die cut from white card stock and all three layers stacked. The secondary sent from Simon’s TINY WORDS BIRTHDAY was stamped with Black Onyx Versafine ink, clear embossed, die cut with Simon’s SENTIMENT LABELS and stacked. Die cuts using HEART PARADE were cut from vellum paper and white card stock. The white outline and vellum heart interiors were backed with adhesive by feeding it through Xyron’s Sticker Maker. Every other heart was coated with Nuvo Glaze topped wth chunky glitter.
The panel was die cut with Simon's A2 THIN FRAMES. The small panel was mounted on foam. Simon's CLUSTERED LEAVES, OUTLINE CLUSTERED LEAVES and HEXAGON TILES were die cut from both the ink blended and matte gold cardstock. The clustered leaves were dry embossed with Simon's LUMEN embossing folder and the tiles mounted on foam. Simon's BIG SCRIPTY HUGS was also cut from the ink blended card stock and stacked on foam.
The panel was trimmed to A2 size and die cut with Simon's STITCHED RECTANGLES. The small panel was cut with Simon's HELLO CRAFTY FRIENDS and adhered to foam. The shadow die cut was stacked on foam and the scripty silver card stock sentiment attached. The watercolour accessories were die cut from Simon's ART SUPPLIES.
This panel was also trimmed to A2 size and die cut with Simon's Stitched Rectanges. The small panel and foam was die cut with the shadow die from Simon's WARM HUGS and stacked. The script was adhered to the shadow die cut and recessed in the foam backed panel. Simon's SUNFLOWER STEM was die cut from vellum and fed through the Xyron Creative Station to back it with adhesive. One leaf was trimmed off so it would not overlap the sentiment.
