Easy Shaker featuring Simon Says Stamp's Center Cut Fall Leaves

Updated: Jan 12

Hello everyone! In our neck of the woods this past week, we have been blessed with very mild, Spring-like temperatures .... blue skies and sunshine. This glorious reprieve from Winter inspired this easy, birthday shaker card with its fresh green tones. Just because the name of this stamp suggests a Fall theme doesn't mean we can't change it up!

The Background

I ink blended two panels of Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Distress Oxide inks; Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers. A piece of heat resistant acetate was stamped using the centre cut-out heart with Versamark ink and embossed with Simon Says Stamp's Fine White Detail embossing Powder. One of the panels was stamped with the leafy portion of the stamp using Versamark ink and embossed in white.

The Shaker

To create the shaker, the heart was fussy cut out of the ink blended panel following along the embossed edge. The acetate heart was centred in the opening and adhered. A piece of sheet foam was cut to the same size as the panel. The heart opening in the stamp was used to trace the heart and then fussy cut. The foam was adhered to the panel. Clear pearl sequins and white beads were mounded on the plain inked panel so they fit within the perimeter of the acetate heart opening. The foam backed panel was glued to the base panel and the shaker attached to an A2 sized, top folding card base. Simon Says Stamp's Handlettered Happy Birthday was die cut from both card stock and foam and stacked before adhering it tp the card.
